Yes Alan Smith was a great striker and had some great seasons at Arsenal, and some would even say he was a prolific striker for a few years, but hang on, please!! Alan Smith was commentating yesterday, (yes commentating!) at St James Park for Sky Sports...

He must be at least 45 now! Are we really suggesting that an aged football commentator ex-arsenal player is going to bang in more goals than our Hendo??

Who exactly would we be doing a loan deal with? And how would that work? Would he really chuck in his TV work for a few months in Watford's attack?

he just needs a bit of confidence, even if he scores off the back of his ar$e I wouldn't care, one goal could change his season.

If you get the chance to talk to him he is a genuinely nice guy and has a vastly under used good left foot.
