Coco to extend his stay at the circus.

Lee happy to stay longer
By Kevin Affleck

RICHARD LEE admits he would happy to sign a contract extension after winning a place back in the Watford side.

The homegrown keeper will deputise for the injured Ben Foster against Sheffield United on Tuesday and could be set for a prolonged stay in the side depending on how quickly the England keeper recovers from a knee operation.

Lee was out of favour at the start of the season but is now firmly established as the number two and said: "I've got a season left after this and I would be delighted to increase it. I've been at Watford boy all my life and it would be great to stay even longer. But for now, I'm just concentrating on Sheffield United."
For the full interview, see tomorrow's Watford Observer.

One saving grace is Kevin used to get half his carp from the message Boards so here's hoping this is more tosh.

I would not say he's one a place back in the team.

only back in due to fosters injury , lee s not a bad keeper although he comes to far of his line for my likeing.

what do you mean oh dear :P. He is a perfectly able second keeper as seen in the cup games. Without him, we have an old chamberlain and a young loach. As long as he doesnt mind being on the bench regularly, then fine. Hes a very nice guy ,supports watford, and is a decent keeper, so a new contract as a back-up keeper should be fine :)

The 3 words are plain wrong when put together in any order.

One of the latter day mysteries of the western world. Maybe we'll never truly know...

It's a fact.

First team football this season excluding friendlies.

Fossie 1 goal every 60 minutes

Rich the cap 1 goal every 90 minutes.:o ;)

Give credit where its due.
he is a decent enough keeper as a back up... wouldnt want to rely on him full time but would rather have him as back up than someothers... i have openly stated previous to this season that i didnt like him but i have changed my opinion of him since his return from loan and apart from his wayward thinking when it comes to coming out he is solid enough in my book.

Totally agree I think he has improved considerably and am not worried if he deputises occasionally.

Jobr's already been nice about Lee once today, you can't expect him to be nice twice in one day;)

I do beleive Richard Lee has improved imensly since he has had the year at Blackburn and has deputised well for Foster.

I used worry when I heard he was in goal but not anymore.

I would rather have Lee in goal than Chris Day!

I think Richard Lee having a run in the first team will do him the world of good!!.... So far he has stepped up to the plate well!!

Did I suggest he was??????

However he froze on at least three occasions, got @@@@@@@ by the whole back four and got lucky with the disallowed goal.

No you didn't imply that...an incorrect assumption on my part, born out of the fact that from reading posts I gather you aren't keen!

I just feel that without Foster, he needs to step up... He doesnt command the defence like he should, but that will only come with pitch time with our defence.

Against Man Utd and Newcastle I thought he was outstanding!

I think he would benefit from a more stable defence...
Would do him good to get playing behind a back four of:

Powell ****tu Demerit Chambers

In fact Aidy, please try this defensive line!!!

At the moment JS holds the LB shirt and has earned it. I would give James Chambers a run at Right Back as Lloyd seems to have become frightened to tackle this year, something he is very good at which i find quite worrying.

LittleBigHorn

JS has earned it, defensively! But going forward not being able to pass the ball along the ground (always trying some crazy inaccurate hard to control waist high lob) is hindering our attacking play!

We are seriously lacking overlapping full backs! Powell reads the game well, has a great first touch and can read and execute good passes...still has a bit of pace about him too!

The defence seems more solid with him in their talking and coaching the inexperienced through the game...

you would have to swap powell to LB as he is left footed and chambers to RB but other wise it looks good
